Getting Around

Transport Options in Melbourne

There are so many ways to get around Melbourne for IALCCE 2025 delegates! The city is a grid which makes it an easy city to navigate on foot. But when you need to get around, there are so many options available to you

Skybus

Getting to and from either of Melbourne’s airports is easy with the Skybus. There are express airport transfers straight to central Melbourne which run every 20 minutes, 7 days a week between 4.30am and midnight. Tickets can be booked in advanced or purchased on the day. For more information can be found on the Skybus website here.

Trams & Trains

Melbourne has the world’s largest tram network. To use the trams, delegates will need to obtain a Myki pass and load it with funds before tapping on but there are some places where trams are free (within the Melbourne CBD and on the free City Circle tourist tram).

Another way to get around is on Melbourne’s suburban train network runs underground in the city and out to the suburbs. Southern Cross Station is a short walk over the river from the event venue and is the best place to access the metro and rural trains.

Taxi and Rideshare

Delegates can make use of the numerous taxis in and around Melbourne. There are taxi ranks throughout the city, at the airport and directly in front of the event venue. Taxis can be booked in advanced or hailed as needed.

There are various rideshare apps like Uber, DiDi, and Ola which operate in Melbourne. At the Melbourne airport, there is an uber rank and other rideshare pick up points to make it even easier for travellers to get around.
