About IALCCE

General Overview

IALCCE2025

The Ninth International Symposium on Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE 2025) is organised on behalf of the International Association for Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE) under the auspices of RMIT University. Professor Chun-Qing Li will serve as Symposium Chair for IALCCE 2025. The Symposium will be held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, Melbourne, Australia 15-19 July 2025.

IALCCE

The Association covers all aspects of life-cycle assessment, design, maintenance, rehabilitation and monitoring of civil engineering systems. The objective of the Association is to promote international cooperation in the field of life-cycle civil engineering for the purpose of enhancing the welfare of society. Currently, IALCCE includes over 800 individual members from 66 countries and about 30 collective members (https://www.ialcce.org).

Aim of the Symposium

The aim of IALCCE 2025 is to bring together all cutting edge research in the field of Life-Cycle Civil Engineering and related topics, to advance both the state-of-the-art and the state-of-practice in the field, and to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Target Audience.

Everybody interested in any aspect of Life-Cycle Civil Engineering is invited to participate. Participation will be profitable to university researchers, representatives from all sections of civil engineering, engineers working with companies, consultants, contractors, and representatives from local authorities. Besides promoting their own research and professional work, participants will learn about and discuss the latest accomplishments, innovations and potential future directions in Life-Cycle Civil Engineering and connect with each other in order to build innovative and lasting networks and collaborations.

IALCCE Symposia

Eight International Symposia have been organised since the foundation of IALCCE. The inaugural IALCCE Symposium was held in Varenna, Lake Como, Italy, in June 2008, under the auspices of Politecnico di Milano. Following IALCCE 2008, a series of Symposia have been organised in Taipei (IALCCE 2010), Vienna (IALCCE 2012), Tokyo (IALCCE 2014), Delft (IALCCE 2016), Ghent (IALCCE 2018), Shanghai (IALCCE 2020) and Milan (IALCCE 2023). These events have been very successful, both technically and academically, and IALCCE Symposia have become established events in the field of Life-Cycle Civil Engineering and related topics.
